MASHABLES are when you combine an animal with other elements to make an entirely unique, chaotic creature combination! The world of Mashables inspires the imagination, teaches real animal facts, and reminds us all that it’s okay not to fit inside one box. We are all unique creatures with a story to tell.
And speaking of telling stories...we are looking to bring the world of Mashables to life with MASHLANDIA- the start of an animated series which will feature an impulsive artist, her shark-dog, and the robot who raised her as they set out to discover every Mashable in a far-off world before the nefarious Chaotica makes the entire planet NON-VIABLE. (QUEUE DRAMATIC MUSIC!!!)
MEET MASHLANDIA 👋
Say hello to MASHLANDIA! The story of MASHLANDIA will follow Jane, a red-headed artist in overalls, and her guardian robot K00 (kay-dub). Alongside their Mashable companion Cork, a corgi mashed with a shark, Jane and her mis-mashed friends will explore the world of MASHLANDIA and document all the Mashables they find, all while avoiding the nefarious antics of Chaotica.

Mashlandia's Chaos Cactus Desert (art by Split Studio) Mashandia's Fowly Forest (art by Split Studios) Jane (she/her) is our protagonist. She’s an inquisitive artist on a mission to draw and understand all the Mashables and help K00 catalogue Mashlandia's chaos. Jane is impulsive and always jumping into unruly situations, usually when trying to meet a new Mashable. She doesn’t do well with silence or being alone and loves to keep herself busy, usually with doodling.
Cork (he/him) is a corgi mashed with a shark. He is *always* teething (sharks are constantly losing their teeth), so he is always wanting to chomp and chew on something (usually K00). Cork helps Jane and K00 navigate MASHLANDIA and occasionally goes full chaos with their CORK FRENZY, when his animal instincts completely take over.
K00 (pronounced KAY-DUB)(they/them) is a science-minded robot on a mission to collect as much data about Mashables as possible. Alongside Jane, they explore MASHLANDIA to try to catalogue the chaos. They consider themselves Jane’s guardian and are always looking out for her and trying (usually in vain) to keep her out of trouble.
Chaotica (he/they) is our shape-shifting evil doer who’s heck-bent on causing chaos in MASHLANDIA. Chaotica and their “trusty” sidekick, Snedgie, always seem to be in our trio’s path, and it seems like they’re the ones responsible for missing Mashables. What could these two chaos groblins be up to?!

You may be asking... why do we need a crowdfunding campaign for an animated series?? Well...animation is expensive (🥲). We've spent some time talking with production companies and industry professionals, and while that world is cool, it's a lot of scariness to navigate and trust as a small business and creator. So, while wecouldkeep grinding with the "traditional" way to make TV, we decided to follow the example of many other wonderful creators out there and do it on our own.EXCEPT... IT WON'T REALLY BE ON OUR OWN BECAUSE IT'LL BE WITH YOU!!!
Community is something we've always cherished and tried to nurture with Meg's Mashables, so doing a crowdfunding campaign to make an animated series possible BECAUSE of our community just feels right 💕
