Wait a second...isn’t that a unicorn mashed with a guinea pig?! CLOSE! The Guinewhal is a guinea pig mashed with a narwhal (the unicorn of the sea!).

Like both its mashed counterparts - Guinewhals are very social creatures and tend to hang out in groups of 10-20. They LOVE making new friends with all sorts of Mashables and creatures. Like guinea pigs, Guinewhals can get really excited (especially when they see their friends) and they make a distinctive, high-pitch whistle noise called wheeking. But because they’re typically underwater, it just comes out as bubbles.

Guinewhals love to snack and just like narwhals, they use echolocation to help find food. Because of all their snacking and because they share traits with guinea pigs (who poop up to 100 times a day), they poop...like a lot. So be careful if you’re swimming with a Guinewhal and just know those pebbles floating around aren’t raisins.

You’d think that pointy bit found on narwhals and Guinewhals heads might be a horn - but it’s actually a tooth! They are spiraled and can grow as long as 10 feet. But they don’t use it for chewing; it has millions of nerve endings and is used to sense water conditions, play, explore, and more!
