On the first Sunday of April, after the last full moooon of the season sets, flower fields across Mashlandia start to hum with the buzz of the Bunbee - part bunny, part bumblebee.

These fuzzy little Mashables emerge from their underground hive-warrens after a long winter hibernation. The first thing on their to-do list? Hiding their honey eggs.

These multi-colored eggs are little capsules of sweet, sticky honey that give the Bunbee the energy to hop from flower to flower. They’re also used to feed baby Bunbees, which, just like bunnies, are called kittens (not confusing at all)!

The biological Tribe classification of bumble bees is called “Bombini.” So, naturally, the Mashable classification for the Bunbee is the Bunbeeni.

Bunbees have six wings, just like a bee. A pair on their back and their ears are wings too! While flying, the constant buzzing does make it hard for them to hear, so yell loudly if you need to get their attention.

Bunbees are docile by nature and will only sting if they feel threatened...so maybe actually don’t yell at them... BUTT! They will give your finger tiny licks if they feel safe enough around you.
